Eid Mubarak!

From all of us at Trefoil, we would like to wish you all a generous and happy Eid al-Fitr!

In order to help students practise little and often during their holidays and keep academic regression at bay, our Mathematics, Further Mathematics, English and Science tutors Vivek, Chris, Milda and Rebecca have prepared a set of holiday work assignments. Based on the material covered throughout the Spring Term, the assignments are a great way to help students review the topics from the term just gone as well as make a running start for the term to come.

We are delighted to share with you the positive feedback contributed by the parents of students who have attended our group lessons and found these enjoyable and beneficial to their learning.

Today we celebrate International Children’s Book Day!

International Children's Book Day is a yearly event sponsored by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), an international non-profit organisation. Founded in 1967, the day is observed on or around Hans Christian Andersen’s birthday, 2nd April. Andersen is most famous for writing over 156 fairy tales in his lifetime. His original tales include The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Pea, The Ugly Duckling and Thumbelina.

Every year on 1st April, April Fool’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. On this day, people traditionally play practical jokes on each other and have fun trying to make other people believe things that are not true.

In the UK, jokes and tricks can be played up until 12pm on 1st April. After midday, it's considered bad luck to play a trick.

The John Locke Institute is holding their annual essay competition and registration opens today, 1st April.

After a successful term, our Easter Break begins today, with no group lessons taking place between Sunday, 31th March and Sunday, 14th April.

At Trefoil Tutors, we are incredibly proud of the quality of teaching and learning we deliver across a range of different subjects. In our small group lessons, our team of qualified teachers and experienced tutors aim to augment and support the work done by schools. Students are taught according to a structured scheme of work and are given weekly homework assignments and regular assessments which are all prepared in-house by our tutors, with weekly individual feedback provided to parents via our personalised online portal.

We would like to remind students and parents that this is the final week of group lessons before we begin our Easter break. The Spring Term ends on Saturday, the 30th March. After the break, all group lessons will resume on Monday, the 15th of April.

We look forward to seeing everyone for their final lessons this Term!

As we enter the final week of the Spring Term, we would like to remind students that they will be sitting a 30-minute assessment in their lessons this week. These arrangements will differ slightly for students attending Reasoning lessons as well as students in exam years.

Do remember to review your classwork notes and homework assignments in preparation!

As the deadline for Priority Registration has now passed, we are delighted to have registered over 200 students to our Mathematics, Further Mathematics, English, Reasoning, and Economics group lessons for the Summer Term.

As our Sixth Form students have now received most of their offers, they face the tough decision of choosing their destinations for the next 3-4 years. This seems like an apt time to remind parents and students that our tutors are more than happy to share their advice and experience on choosing the right university or study programme.

At Trefoil Tutors, we value the importance of maintaining an ongoing conversation between parents, tutors and students as a key factor in maintaining tutee progress and development. As the Spring Term comes to an end, we would therefore like to invite parents to book a meeting to speak to your child’s tutor and discuss their progress throughout the academic year so far. These meetings will build on the personalised feedback the tutors upload to the online portal every week.
