After a successful first six lessons, our Half Term Break begins today, with no group lessons taking place between the 17th and the 30th October. Lessons will resume on the week commencing Monday, 31st of October.

The Trefoil Tutors office is closed for the Half Term break from Monday, 17th October to Sunday, 30th October. Throughout these two weeks, we will be operating with a skeleton staff only; our team will be intermittently checking our email inboxes for any urgent queries.

In response to continued interest in our group lessons, we are excited to announce that Trefoil Tutors will be running three new groups for Year 10 Mathematics, Year 4 English and Year 11 Triple Science starting in the second half of the Autumn Term.

‘Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority’

World Mental Health Day is a chance to talk about mental health in general and how we need to look after it. It’s so important to talk about things and get help if you are struggling.

You do not have to go through tough times alone. If you are finding things difficult, speaking to someone might help. A number of charities have dedicated helplines and are ready to offer you their ear and support.

In this week's Senior Tutor Update, Vivek reflects on the last two weeks and celebrates the good work we have all completed. Equally, Vivek reminds us that we have one very important week to go before the two-week Half Term break, where students will be completing their first longer assessment of the academic year.

In this week's Senior Tutor Update, Vivek does his best impression of a newsreader, summarising a busy week at Trefoil. Vivek thanks everyone for their support in helping him run the London Marathon as well as for the sponsorship as he raises money for the NSPCC. With the cold season upon us, Vivek encourages students to attend lessons face-to-face if they are well enough to do so, but equally, to make use of the calling-in facility if they are unwell. Vivek also reminds students to complete corrections and begin their revision for the assessment in Week 6. With parents of our students in mind, Vivek proudly announces the start of the event schedule at Trefoil, with the 11+ Parents' Advice Evening taking place on Monday 17th October.

Our Director of Accounts Milda brings two important announcements. Firstly, our full year payment discount is available until the end of the Half Term (16 October). Parents are welcome to secure their child's place for the full academic year and receive an additional £100 discount per subject. Secondly, Milda introduces new Year 4 English, Year 10 Mathematics and Year 11 Science lessons added to our timetable after the October Half Term break.

In this week’s video, our Senior Tutor Vivek reviews the first Assessment Week of the academic year and reminds students of the good routines we’ve been establishing. Additionally, with cross-year examinations usually taking place in schools in the coming months, Vivek discusses a number of effective revision methods building on VAK theory, which will be helpful to all our students regardless of their age. In her first video of the academic year, our Director of Operations Armine reminds parents of the parking arrangements at Theobald Court and introduces an exciting array of upcoming events for both students and their parents.

Vivek reminds parents to ensure that they have logged in to the portal to receive up-to-date feedback which is being written by our tutors. The feedback written in the next fortnight will refer to the first two assignment sheets as well as the first assessment, which will be sat by the tutees this week. This October, November and December, we will be running English, Mathematics and Reasoning mock examinations for 11+ students preparing for Independent School examinations in September 2022, December 2022 and January 2023.
