As we begin the new academic year, our Senior Tutor Vivek welcomes new and returning students to our lessons that begin on Monday, the 5th of September. Vivek reflects on the successes of last year and outlines the need for consistency to build on the solid foundations already set. Last year, our Senior Tutor, Vivek Gathani, published a video sharing his advice about making the most of the experience and supporting your son or daughter through this exciting - albeit sometimes daunting - moment of their school life. As we begin a new academic year, we would like to share his tips with you.

After months of hard work preparing for their 11+ examinations, our Year 7 students step into the next stage of their academic career as secondary school pupils.

With a number of Grammar School 11+ examinations taking place in the coming weeks, we are delighted to offer a FREE 11+ entrance English mock paper to help students with their revision.

This week, on Monday, the 22nd of August and Thursday, the 25th of August, we held our first and second set of English, Reasoning and Mathematics 11+ mock examinations for students preparing to sit Grammar School entrance examinations in September.

On Tuesday, the 23rd of August, the Trefoil Tutors team will be gathering at our office for a staff training day. This year, we have welcomed many new members to our administrative and teaching teams and this training day, led by our Senior Leadership team, offers everyone an opportunity to refresh our knowledge of child protection policies before the start of the new term, as well as explore opportunities for collaboration within the team.

We know that each new academic year comes with a new stack of books. If you find yourself not knowing what to do with your old coursebooks and set texts, we would be more than happy to add the books you no longer wish to keep to our library and give an opportunity for our younger students to use them in their work.
