Today, we begin the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations and step into the Year of the Fire Horse according to the Chinese calendar. We would like to wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! We hope you have enjoyed celebrating with your friends and family.

After a successful first six lessons of the Spring Term, our Half Term Break begins today, with no group lessons taking place between Monday, the 16th and Sunday, the 22nd of February.

With the first half of the Spring Term complete, we are delighted to see students continuing to follow good routines in their learning. In order to help students practise little and often during their break in order to keep academic regression at bay, our lead Mathematics, English and Science tutors Vivek, Kishan and Rebecca have prepared a set of holiday work assignments for students currently in Years 3-13.

Trinity College Cambridge is holding their annual competition for essays in Law. The Robert Walker Prize is named after an Honorary Fellow of the College, Lord Walker of Gestingthorpe, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court and former law student at Trinity.

As we enter Week 6 of the Spring Term, we would like to remind students that this is the second assessment week of the Term. Students will be sitting a short assessment in their lessons this week.

The start of Year 7 comes with the challenge of transitioning into secondary school for the vast majority of our students. Here, students will face the academic and pastoral demands that come along with this new stage in their education.

National Storytelling Week takes place every year and is a celebration of the power of sharing stories, this years theme is 'Soundtrack your story.'

The Intermediate Mathematical Challenge commences today, with Year 10 and Year 11 students competing for gold, silver and bronze certificates across the country.

Today is International Holocaust Memorial Day. The theme for 2026 is Bridging Generations.

We would like to take this day to remember, and pay tribute to, the 6 million lives lost during the Holocaust.
