In this week's Senior Tutor Update video, Vivek reminds students and parents that it is assessment week. With watchlist emails having been sent last week, students should look to revise and prepare for these short assessments. Vivek highlights that the job adverts for our Tutor of Mathematics and Tutor of Biology roles have been extended. Before handing over to Rebecca, Vivek elaborates on a quote that has resonated with him this week: "Good teachers introduce new thoughts, great teachers introduce new ways of thinking".
Our Director of Studies Rebecca continues her series of advice videos helping students prepare for their assessments and recommends focusing on addressing the amber section from their RAG-style revision using written techniques, such as flash cards and mind maps. Rebecca also emphasises the importance of utilising their green pens effectively when working through assignment and assessment corrections in class with the tutor. Finally, Rebecca reminds parents about the communication that will reach them this week regarding updating school preferences for Year 5 students, and updating predicted grades for Years 10 and 12. Rebecca will also be emailing parents regarding any issues with students' record of handing in assignments on time throughout the course of the term.
