Today is Red Nose Day!
Millions of people in the UK celebrate this day by wearing red noses and following the live telethon hosted by Comic Relief. You can watch this year’s broadcast on BBC One and BBC Two.
Last year, Comic Relief raised £35 million, as millions of viewers tuned in to the Red Nose Day broadcast across BBC channels.
Comic Relief was launched in 1985 by comedy scriptwriter Richard Curtis and comedian Lenny Henry as a way to raise money through the power of laughter.
Sir Lenny said: “The spirit of Red Nose Day is for everyone to get involved and to get the vibe of helping someone else that they don’t know, it’s always been that and what could be better?”
