Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent - a period of six weeks leading up to Easter.
Lent is a special time of reflection and faith, practised in prayer and by the act of giving up something. That “something” depends on the person observing Lent, with the main guidelines being that it has to be something that’s challenging to give up during this period. Millions of people give up something during Lent as a sign of sacrifice and to test their self-discipline.
Here’s a list of what each member of the Trefoil Team has decided to give up for the next 46 days:
Vivek, Director and Senior Tutor - Television before bed
Milda, Director and Lead English tutor - Coca-Cola
Armine, Director of Operations - All animal products
Esther, Registrar - Fast food
Amar, Business Development Manager - Processed food
Chris, Tutor of Mathematics - Donuts
Kish, Tutor of English - Chocolate
Kris, Car Park Attendant - Alcohol
