On Tuesday, the 23rd of August, the Trefoil Tutors team will be gathering at our office for a staff training day. This year, we have welcomed many new members to our administrative and teaching teams and this training day, led by our Senior Leadership team, offers everyone an opportunity to refresh our knowledge of child protection policies before the start of the new term, as well as explore opportunities for collaboration within the team.

We are delighted to share with you the positive feedback contributed by the parents of students who have attended our group lessons and found these enjoyable and beneficial to their learning.

We know that each new academic year comes with a new stack of books. If you find yourself not knowing what to do with your old coursebooks and set texts, we would be more than happy to add the books you no longer wish to keep to our library and give an opportunity for our younger students to use them in their work.

After a well-deserved break for the Summer, we are delighted to welcome students back into the classroom for the start of Summer Lessons at Trefoil Tutors. Today we will re-open our doors to over 50 students who will be completing our three-week Summer Lessons course before they go back to school in September.

Thursday, the 18th of August is an important date in the calendar for all A Level students waiting to receive their results.

We are glad to announce that this August, October, November and December, we will be running English, Mathematics and Reasoning mock examinations for 11+ students preparing for Grammar and Independent School examinations in September 2022, December 2022 and January 2023.

The summer holidays are an important time for students to take a break and recharge their batteries - at the same time, parents often worry about academic regression which may make the start of the new academic year harder than expected. Today, we are happy to share with you a video from our Senior Tutor, Vivek Gathani, who shares some advice about how to make the most of the summer holidays and strike the right balance between work and play.

Trefoil Tutors is an awarding-winning tuition provider, recognised as the Best Tuition and Educational Support Provider in the South East region by UK Enterprise Awards. Founded in 2011 with the aim of bringing a new level of professionalism to tutoring in North London, Trefoil Tutors provide group lessons which follow structured courses designed to support and augment the work studied in school as well as help students prepare for 11+, GCSE and A Level examinations.

At Trefoil Tutors, we are incredibly proud of the quality of teaching and learning we deliver across a range of different subjects. In our small group lessons, our team of qualified teachers and experienced tutors aim to augment and support the work done by schools. Students are taught according to a structured scheme of work and are given weekly homework assignments and regular assessments which are all prepared in-house by our tutors, with weekly individual feedback provided to parents via our personalised online portal.

A far cry away from traditional one-to-one tuition, our lessons take place in purpose-built classrooms in our Elstree office where tutors are supported by a full-time administrative team to ensure they can spend their time teaching. All our tutors are qualified teachers or experienced tutors who are subject specialists and have been DBS checked, fully insured and have attended safeguarding courses run at Trefoil Tutors. These are the standards expected at top schools in the country and we firmly believe tutors should hold themselves to the same standards.

At Trefoil Tutors, we know that the educational experience extends far beyond the confines of an individual lesson. To help maintain engagement and avoid academic regression, our Lead Tutors Vivek, Milda and Rebecca have prepared a series of subject-specific projects for our students to complete over the Summer Holidays.

The deadline for submitting all projects is 12pm on Monday, the 15th of August. Projects can either be emailed to office@trefoiltutors.co.uk or handed into the office in person. Late submissions will not be accepted.

The student who produces the best project in each year group, as decided by each tutor, will be awarded with subject-themed prizes once they return to Trefoil Tutors in the new academic year.

With the final lessons of the year now over, we would like to thank our students and their parents for all their hard work and support. Although the academic year is now complete, we are already looking forward to welcoming back our students who have just completed Year 4, 5, 11 and 12 in August for summer lessons. The remaining year groups will return to classrooms in the week commencing Monday, the 5th of September.

On Wednesday, the 20th of July, the Trefoil Tutors team gathered at our office for a staff training day.

With a number of new additions to our administrative and office teams this year, the training included Fire Safety Training - led by Orrin Justin, a retired firefighter of 25 years in the London Fire Brigade - to help ensure safety for staff and students at our premises.

In this week's (bonus) Senior Tutor Video, Vivek once again thanks parents, tutees and staff for their understanding and support with the rearranged week of lessons; with special thanks to Kishan for stepping up and supporting Milda's English lessons.
