We understand that the process of preparing your child for the 11+ examinations can sometimes feel overwhelming. This is particularly true in the North London area, which is a real hub of some of the best and most competitive Grammar and Independent Schools across London and indeed across the country. Parents of 11+ candidates face the task of navigating through the different types of schools, each with its own unique set of requirements and examination structures. Choosing the right one for your child, therefore unsurprisingly, may seem like a mammoth task. On top of that, you will find a plethora of different types of tutors and tuition centres who will offer their services to you.
However, it is important that you find a tutoring partner who will support you and help you navigate through this journey.
Our work throughout the 11+ process is underpinned by our commitment to getting to know the student and the family, and helping them find a school that will fit their individual needs.
Between us, our three lead tutors have over 30 years experience in supporting students and parents through this journey and over the past decade years, Trefoil has guided hundreds of students through the 11+ process helping them find the right secondary school. Each year, we teach students from over 80 different schools in North London - this gives us a truly unique snapshot into these schools which we can then use to provide impartial, insightful and honest advice to the parents of our 11+ students. Schools will vary vastly with regards to academic rigour, pastoral care and extracurricular activities they offer to their students and we encourage parents to carefully consider these three aspects of secondary school life within the context of their family’s priorities.
