Advice Evenings

Making the Most of Secondary School

At Trefoil Tutors, we believe that our commitment to providing exceptional educational services does not finish at the end of each lesson.

Our team of qualified teachers and experienced tutors are always happy to share their experience and advice with the parents of our students.

To give our students and parents as much support as possible, throughout the year we organise Parents' Advice Evenings that are focused on the making the most of secondary school. These will offer useful advice on how to benefit from the opportunities offered by secondary school and support your child through this exciting - albeit sometimes daunting - moment of their school life.

Please check this page for dates of upcoming Advice events this academic year.

About the event

During the event, our Senior Tutor Vivek Gathani will share useful advice on how to benefit from the opportunities offered by Secondary Schools and support your child through this exciting - albeit sometimes daunting - moment of their school life. Having worked at Haberdashers' Boys' School for four years as a mathematics teacher, Year 7 form tutor and deputy housemaster, Vivek is closely familiar with the day-to-day opportunities and challenges the students face in a new school.

Additionally, the Parents’ Advice Afternoon will be paired with a Year 6 Students’ Reunion. This will offer students the opportunity to catch up with their previous tutors and classmates as well as meeting other Trefoil students who will be attending the same Secondary School. We will provide some board games and light refreshments for the students to enjoy.

Light refreshments will be provided throughout the event; therefore, we would like to emphasise the importance of highlighting any dietary requirements in the booking form.

Students and parents who attend this event last year said:

Practical advice was offered by Vivek and even current students from these secondary schools. It was great to meet other parents whose children will also be attending the same secondary school.

It was useful to get reassurance that it'll be hard for everyone (it was particularly important for the kids to hear that).”

It was helpful in showing the kids what to expect with regards to level of independence and what is expected of them.”
