WORLD BOOK DAY

Hareish, March 6, 2025

Today, we celebrate World Book Day! Although it sometimes may seem that today is about fancy dress costumes rather than books, we would like to encourage our young readers to pick up a new book this week and nurture their good reading habits.

Here are some of the books that our team enjoyed reading when they were children:

Milda - Director - Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers
Esther - Registrar - Hetty Feather by Jacqueline Wilson
Vivek - Senior Tutor, Lead Tutor of Mathematics - Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne
Aspen - Office and Car Parking Assistant - Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne
Hareish - Office Assistant - Gone series by Michael Grant
Kish - Lead English Tutor - The Faraway Tree series by Enid Blyton
Bex - Director of Studies, Lead Tutor of Science and Reasoning - Face by Benjamin Zephaniah
Tharini - Accounts Assistant - The Adventures of Tintin by Georges Remi
Chris - Tutor of Mathematics and Further Mathematics - End of Eternity by Isaac Asimov
Charlotte - Administrative Assistant - Carbonel by Barbara Sleigh
Nayani - Office and Car Parking Assistant - Skellig by David Almond

To help students explore different authors, styles and genres, as well as help them develop a love of literature, we have compiled a list of twelve book recommendations for each year group from Year 3 to Year 11. The books on the list range from timeless classics to recent releases. As they go through the list, students will become familiar with the work of world-famous writers and meet iconic book characters.

Happy World Book Day and happy reading!
