The American Library Association has announced the 2025 winners of the Youth Media Awards, including the Newbery and Caldecott medals, and the Printz award.
These are some of the oldest and most prestigious awards in children’s literature; the Newbery and Caldecott medals have been awarded for over 80 years.
The winner of the John Newbery medal for the most outstanding contribution to children’s literature is Erin Entrada Kelly with The First State of Being.
The winner of the Randolph Caldecott medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children is Andrea L. Rogers with Chooch Helped.
The winner of the Michael L. Printz award for excellence in literature written for young adults is Samuel Teer with Brownstone
