Trefoil Tutors was established in 2011 with a mission to bring a new level of professionalism to tutoring. Providing outstanding teaching and learning and enriching a student’s educational experience are at the forefront of all that we do.
We offer specialist small group tuition for Years 3 to 13, in order to augment and support the teaching that students receive in school.
Our ethos
Our business is based on three foundational values: Personal, Passionate, Professional.
Personal
Being a tutor at Trefoil Tutors goes far beyond providing a platform for outstanding teaching and learning. Our tutors are seen as mentors to students as much as they are teachers. Getting to know students and their families during their time with us is a cornerstone of what we hold to be important and is paramount in ensuring we can communicate effectively with our clients.
Passionate
At Trefoil Tutors, we are equally committed to sharing our subject knowledge as well as our love of the subjects we teach with our students. Making lessons dynamic, interesting and engaging helps us develop an enjoyment of the subject and promote life-long learning in our students. We are unashamedly geeky!
Professional
All too often, tutoring is seen as an additional job. Our team see tutoring differently - we approach it as a vocation in itself. We aim to professionalise all we do, both with regards to our tutoring and our administrative procedures. We use the exceptionally high standards of top Independent and Grammar Schools as the benchmark we hold ourselves to.

Testimonials
"We are delighted with Gabriela’s progress: she has improved so much, in her confidence, in her attitude to the subject - and she looks forward to the lessons."
Gabriela's mum
"Vivek would take his time to explain to each student what they were struggling with - and he would always explain it in a fun way."
Pupil, Year 6
"I’m really happy with the work that Vivek does and the way he teaches – he really challenges my girls. He’s very, very patient; he can sit and explain everything ten times if you need him to and he makes everything sound very easy."
Ria and Anya's Mum
"Avi has been a good student but over the years had plateaued in maths, and I can honestly say that Vivek has brought back that spark about maths to Avi."
Avi and Aman's Mum
"The lessons have given him a great deal of confidence and he’s got the belief he can achieve the top grade in maths."
Jonathan's Dad
"It’s nice being in a group, because you can compare your work and it’s nice to see how other people have thought of doing the same question."
Pupil, Y11
"They’ve built up a good understanding of mathematical concepts and, as a result, they’ve improved a great deal in school."
Karan and Rohan's Mum
"We were working together as a team - the tutor, the parent and the child. I think that is the best bit and they couldn't have done it better."
Kabir's Mum
"One of my sons has been with Trefoil Tutors for over 5 years now and has enjoyed every bit of it. As parents, we can see he’s achieving much higher results in his academics at school."
Samad and Saif's Dad
"Suhan has recently been moved into an accelerated group, where children can learn more as the speed and depth is differentiated for this group of children. That helps Suhan push forward towards his preparations for exams."
Suhan's Mum
"As a parent, I am very happy that we've enjoyed coming to lessons at Trefoil Tutors and we are looking to continue – especially as we have seen such improvement!"
Aaliyah's mum
"Trefoil Tutors is extremely well organised - it's more like a small school than a traditional tutor. It is very ordered and structured; there is a clear routine for all the lessons. We've been extremely impressed with both the service and the approach from both Vivek and Milda."
Joshua's Dad
"Trefoil Tutors are a very professional company - they are very supportive and always available whenever we need them."
Aarav's Dad
"English in particular has been a great success. He found the group sessions in English useful because kids tend to exchange or share ideas and that is something that he wouldn’t get if he went to a one-to-one session."
Anthony's Dad
"Kabir never felt like he was missing out on anything or lagging behind because Vivek took the time to explain each concept to each and every one of the boys."
Kabir's mum
"It’s a very professional environment yet it’s friendly at the same time. They are very organised: everything is very well planned, we get the lesson dates well in advance. The communication is great and the newsletter keeps us informed about any changes that are happening."
Avi and Aman's mum
"We found is that the feedback is very structured, and in fact even more detailed than what you get in a school report, because it’s just focusing on one subject."
Jonathan and Lili's dad
"Trefoil Tutors recently introduced their new website, which is very useful and helpful because we can now track the lessons and the progress. Additionally, we recently downloaded some 11+ mock exams and answers from the online portal, which was very helpful."
Salma's dad
"Usually when you go to a maths tutor, you just expect it to be boring and slow and just more questions – but here it’s not. The way Mr G teaches is fun, it’s animated and he’s always willing to have a chat about different maths and make it fun at the same time."
Pupil, Year 10
"Trefoil Tutors has done so much for my son – he has matured a lot, he’s concentrating a lot more and his grades are excellent because of Trefoil Tutors, not because of the school."
Saif and Samad's mum
“I really enjoyed the 11+ Parents’ Evening. It was helpful to get the insights from Vivek and Milda about the process, the timeline; how they overlay the tutoring sessions on top of that timeline; and to get some insight into different schools, as well.”
Rory's mum
“It was such a fantastic idea for Vivek and Milda to organise the 11+ Parents’ Evening because I had no clue about 11+: I didn’t know what to expect, I was scared from what people had told me. But coming here it made me feel more comfortable about it. There’s nothing as good as feeling and knowing that you are supported.”
Kishi's mum
"Since Salma attended Trefoil, her mathematics seems to have improved quite a bit and her grades have improved to reflect the good teaching methods that are being employed."
