With the 11+ entrance examinations fast approaching, we are delighted to confirm the dates of our Mathematics, English and Reasoning mock examinations that will take place in October and November 2025.
Furthermore, with a number of independent schools in the local area having changed their 11+ examination to a Quest Assessment, we are pleased to introduce new Quest-style mock examinations.
The mock examinations are modelled on 11+ entrance examination papers to Independent Schools in the area.
All our 11+ mock examinations are written by our tutors in house and are facilitated and marked by our Lead Tutors for each subject.
About the 11+ mock examinations
The Mathematics mock examination papers are written by Vivek Gathani, our Lead Mathematics Tutor and qualified teacher who helped write and mark the 11+ entrance examination papers when teaching at Haberdashers' Boys' School.
The English mock examination sessions are led by Kishan Ganatra, our Lead English tutor and qualified teacher. Having completed his PGCE in English (Secondary) at the UCL Institute of Education, Kishan is in his third year of teaching at Trefoil. Kishan is a scholar of Haberdashers’ Boys’ School and a graduate of the University of Nottingham with a BA (Hons).
The Reasoning mock examination papers are written by Rebecca Wolffe, our Lead Reasoning Tutor and qualified teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience as well as an in-depth understanding of the North London grammar and independent schools.

Location
The mock examinations will take place at our premises in Elstree (5 Theobald Court, Theobald Street, WD6 4RN).
Exam structure
For the mock examinations taking place on Monday 20th of October, each 2-hour-long session will contain:
– an introduction to the paper structure by the tutor;
– a brief Q&A session for the students about the 11+ process;
– sitting the 60-minute-long examination;
– a 15-minute break while the tutor marks the papers;
– a review of the paper highlighting common mistakes.
For the Quest-style examinations taking place on Sunday 2nd November, the 3-hour-long session will contain:
– an introduction to the paper structure by the tutor;
– a brief Q&A session for the students about the 11+ process;
– sitting a two part exam broken down into:
– part 1 of Maths, NVR, English and VR (70 mins);
– part 2 of puzzles, problem solving and creative comprehension (35 mins);
– a 15-minute break while the tutor marks the papers;
– a review of the paper highlighting common mistakes.
Each examination session is limited to six places, except for the Quest-style assessment, which has eighteen places. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The papers will be marked and returned to the students on the same day.

The cost of attending a mock exam is £75 (incl. VAT) for one examination.
We are pleased to offer a discounted price of £60 (incl. VAT) per examination to students who are attending our lessons.
